Hot Forming Capabilities

Plate Rolling

  • Birdsboro 20" mill, 375 hp with 1.8 million lb. of separating force.
  • Capable of hot rolling a 5.0" diameter by 15.0" rod or cast ingot to 2.5" round cornered square.
  • Capable of rolling plate to 0.220" by 15" wide (times the length).
  • Maximum handling weight of up to 150 lbs.
  • Roll speed is variable with a speed up to about 100 ft/minute.
  • Serviced by several gas fired heating furnaces with a temperature range of 1400 to 2300 degrees farenheit.

Shape Rolling

  • Birdsboro 16" mill, 375 hp with 1.2 million lb. of separating force.
  • Capable of shape rolling a 2.5" square to 0.680" diameter in thirteen passes.
  • Hot roll to 1.125" diameter or 0.580" round cornered square..
  • Minimum length capability 3.0" normal 6.0"-10.0".
  • Roll speed can be varied to 140 ft/minute.
  • Serviced by same furnaces for the 20" mill.
  • Serviced by small seperate hot saw.

Cold Forming Capabilities

Plate or Strip Rolling

  • Stanat 2 high - 4 high strip mill with 8.0" rolls (Rockwell C40).
    • Capable of handling a 0.5" by 5.0" wide piece.
    • Can cold roll to 0.005" thick.

 

 

Bar Rolling

  • 8" bar rolling mill.
    • Can form a 0.680" diameter to 0.260" round cornered square.
    • Minimum starting length is four inches.
    • Open square grooves.
  • 4" bar rolling mill.
    • Can form a 0.250" round cornered square.
    • Minimum starting length is four inches.
    • Open square grooves.
  

Bar Drawing

  • Hydraulic Rod Bench .
    • Dies range from 0.640" to 0.040" diameter.
    • Finished lengths range from 2" to 120".
  

Wire Drawing

  • Dies are available from 0.045" to 0.280".
  • Minimum length for point is 2.0".
  • Serviced by a Morgan wire pointer (limited to 0.05").
  • Hand pointer to 0.027" diameter.
  

Cold Swaging

  • Cold Swage dies from 0.893" to 0.040".
